Make It at Market Final Piece
Portland Stone With inlays of reclaimed Australian Jarrah
This piece reflects a new chapter in my furniture making. Mentor Bruce Kenneth from Make It At Market felt I I needed to incorporate a new era of design into my work.
I visited my local stone yard Abbey Masonry, they were hugley accomodating and used their impressive machinery to cut down a slab of portland stone to 100 x 50cm aswell as routed inlay to which I filled with reclaimed Australian Jarrah. I felt this gave a contrasting element to the work, finished off with Shou Sugi Ban legs.
